Ignition 8.3.0 is the required version and build baseline.
Java Compatibility
The Gateway module targets Java 17. Use the Java runtime supported by the selected Ignition installation.
System Requirements
Confirmed deployment requirements are:
-
an enabled Factory Host Agent module on the Ignition Gateway;
-
a Linux, Windows, or macOS host with the matching Host Client package;
-
permission for the host user to extract and run the Host Client;
-
operating-system access to every file, directory, or serial resource that will be mapped;
-
outbound reachability from the Host Client to the Gateway URL in its setup bundle;
-
appropriate Ignition access for administrators who download bundles, approve hosts, request permissions, or send commands; and
-
a certificate chain trusted by the host operating system, with a matching hostname, when protected WebSocket transport is used.
Required Ignition Modules
Optional Integrations
-
Designer: Can call the public file-scripting API while developing or testing authorized workflows.
-
Vision: Can call the public file-scripting API.
-
Perspective and other tag consumers: Can use the managed tags through standard Ignition functionality.
-
Serial hardware: Can be used after the host operating system discovers the port and a host-side mapping authorizes it.
External Dependencies
The Host Client relies on:
-
host operating-system facilities for telemetry;
-
host filesystem permissions;
-
host serial-port access where used;
-
network access to the Gateway; and
-
native certificate and hostname validation for protected transport.
Packaging and Signing
The module and Host Client artifacts are unsigned. Administrators must confirm that deployment complies with organizational software-distribution, code-signing, and endpoint-protection policies.
