Testing functionalities

This article provides a quick validation checklist for core FactoryTouch hardware and connectivity features after installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting.

Testing Touchscreen Responsiveness

• Tap across all areas of the panel to verify touch accuracy and panel responsiveness.

• Ensure the screen wakes from sleep or hibernate

  • when touched

  • when the power button is pressed.

Testing NFC Badge Scanning

• Get in Designer

• Select in the tag provider pfce_devices

• Find your FactoryTouch

• Present a NFC badge to the right-side NFC reader

• In the tag provider, the badgeID should be displayed while swiping

Testing 2D Barcode Reader

• Scan a test barcode using the scanner located on the bottom side of the unit.

• Verify that the scanned barcode data registers properly within the active Ignition application interface.

Testing Network & FactoryBrain Connectivity

• Confirm network link activity using the RJ45 Ethernet port LEDs on the rear connection panel.

• Verify communication with FactoryBrain. If disconnected, trigger [CTRL] + [ALT] + [SHIFT] + [P] to review IP, netmask, and gateway settings.

Testing Audio Output

• Connect an external audio device to the 3.5 mm Audio Out jack to verify audio signal output.

Testing Power & Standby Functionality

• Press the rear power button to toggle between power states and verify the LED indicator shifts between green (ON) and red/orange (OFF or Sleep).

• Confirm the power transition stabilizes within 2 seconds after pressing the button.
